The weeks have passed and Homecoming 2011 is upon us. There are so many activities going on this weekend, guaranteeing there is something for everyone to do. The Alumni Association has planned a fantastic weekend for students, faculty, staff, alumni and families. For an extensive list of everything going on this weekend check out its website.
- Bowman Cup 5k Race
The 11th Annual Bowman Cup 5k Race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011. The race, named after former Kent State University President, Dr. George Bowman, will be held at 8 a.m. A ticket to the Homecoming football game is included in the cost of registration for most categories.
- Kent State’s Homecoming Parade
The parade theme “Rock Out the RedHawks,” beginning at Midway Drive at 10 a.m., will head down East Main St. and end at Franklin Ave. Alumni are invited to a complimentary continental breakfast hosted by the Kent State Alumni Association at the Williamson Alumni Center. It’s a great place to watch for the parade!
- Pre-Game Fan Experience
Free indoor tailgating experience opens 2 1/2 hours prior to game kick-off in the Field House located on the east side of Dix Stadium.
-Indoor picnic area
-Entertainment and KSU band performances
-Food, beverage and beer vendors
-Exclusive donor lounge area (Varsity Circle level and above)
-Greet the team 2 hours prior to kick-off
-Shuttles from west side parking to Field House lot
- Kent State Golden Flashes vs. Miami RedHawks
Be at Dix Stadium at 3:30 to watch the Golden Flashes beat the Miami RedHawks!
